An
alarm input (trigger voltage) of 3-24 V DC, from an alarm panel or PIR,
will cause the unit to send out a “universal” infra-red
record signal.
Once a domestic VCR receives this, it starts recording the event
that caused the alarm condition. After an
adjustable delay the unit sends out a stop signal,
resetting itself for the next activation.
The
unit can be used with any CCTV system and provides a low budget solution
to event only recording. It
is mains powered with a re-chargeable battery back-up.
Due to its small dimensions, this unit fits neatly on top of or
next to a normal domestic VCR.
When
used in conjunction with an Advanced Vision Controller in a domestic
environment, the controller can take a signal from the coaxial TV aerial
lead to prevent the need to run cables in the lounge or living room.
As
well as being activated by PIR detectors the unit can be activated by the
front door bell, so recording anyone who called when you are away.
If the unit is set to record for 2 minutes each time it is
activated & the VCR is set on long play then the unit can easily cover
a holiday. 8 hours of
recording / 2 minutes recording each activation = 240 activations.
We use this very effectively in schools over the holiday periods
& in isolated storage areas. No
need to go every 24 hours to change the tape and reduce the amount of tape
to be reviewed. Why record
hours of in-activity.
